Personalized Software for Accessibility
Which one is better? The one designed by chatGPT o1 reasoning model (right) or the MacOS native one, designed by a trillion USD company's massive design team (left)?
Which one is more distraction free? Which one is more empathic with users, prioritising the ease of use and make super clear, which button is to be clicked?
Please note: O1 designed this under a few minutes (fist-shot try), based on an experimental prompt that included accessibility. Not a final product. An experiment in a few minutes. The left one is designed by a global brand, spent decades refining the design and having millions of metrics, user feedback.
I've updated the code in the canvas to include:
Customizable Color Themes (Default, Dark, Pastel) via a dropdown
Text-to-Speech that reads the result out loud
Gamification with a simple confetti animation every 3 successful operations.
You can ask o1 to continue adding new features, new design: https://chatgpt.com/canvas/shared/67ac6ba953148191aacf9bb3dc12e0a0
Personalized Software in the Age of AI Code Generation
You know, I've been thinking about this a lot lately - how more and more people are discovering they have neurodivergent traits. It's fascinating really, because it's not just about having ADHD or being on the spectrum - there's this whole range of experiences that people are starting to recognize in themselves.
I keep wondering about all those people out there who might be struggling with focus or organization, not even realizing why. And for those who have more severe ADHD symptoms? Getting the right tools could literally transform their daily life and work.
We're at this point where AI can help build software that actually fits how different people think and work. Like, why should someone who processes information completely differently than me have to use the exact same interface I do? It doesn't make sense anymore.
The best part about all this is how personal it can be. Think about it - if you're dealing with sensory overload, wouldn't it be amazing to have an interface that adjusts to your needs? Or if you struggle with executive function, having an app that knows exactly how to help you stay on track?
But honestly? I'm optimistic about where this is heading. The ability to create software that truly understands and adapts to different ways of thinking... that's going to be a game changer for so many people. The one-size-fits-all approach to software? I think those days are numbered.
